What we want to achieve
The aim of this initiative is to support a young person (or group of youth) financially to enable them to attend international conferences, seminars or events that would otherwise not be able to do so. Financial cost is a considerable and large barrier to both youth in care and care leavers and we believe the experience of meeting other youth, adults and decision makers at international-level events is an opportunity that all care leavers deserve.
About
IFCO Pat Whelan Youth Fund Award has been found in 2007 in memory of IFCO member and former volunteer Administration Secretary Pat Whelan from Ireland. Since then, through individual and corporate donations care leavers from various parts of the world have been able to attend annual International Foster Care Organisation conferences, seminars and events held at both national, European and international levels.
Our 100% pledge
IFCO pledges to ensure that 100% of the donations we receive will go directly towards participation of the young people in/from care at the next IFCO 2015 World Conference.

We are fundraising for IFCO (International Foster Care Organisation) Pat Whelan Youth Fund to bring together the voices of young people with care experience from across the globe.
